Yes, He Has Eyebrows!

Meet my child Soji, a Miniature Schnauzer of unknown age. Our guess is ~ 7 years.

We adopted him in 2022 and he has been with our family for nearly 2 years now. When we first got him, he was a nervous wreck, extremely anti-social, and didn't bark. He was so quiet you could forget that he was in the room. After some months of him getting to know us and us him, he's broken out of his shy shell into a social dog and my best friend.

I realized that adopting a dog was more tedious and exhausting that I expected. For many people who aren't aware, when you apply to adopt a dog, depending on where you go, it can often be grueling, time-consuming, and takes forever. I wanted to share some tips that I learned along the way.

Research, Research,
RESEARCH!

The biggest mistake I've seen people make when adopting a dog is not researching. They see one of those cute designer dog breeds and assume that is the type of dog they want. They don't research how much they cost (including purchase, food, medical, insurance, toys, beds, etc), the behavior traits of the breed, if they're family friendly, dog-friendly, people-friendly, or if they are hypoallergenic. All of these things are important! Why? Let me share my experience.
